New York Rising
9/11, Nov 8 2001

|
|
New York Rising, a new campaign created to bring business to New York
following the September 11 tragedy, has formed a group known as the New York
City Meeting and Event Industry Coalition. Its focus: To bring professional
and meeting groups to New York City ASAP.
The developing coalition, spearheaded by NYC & Company, will create and
market a consolidated database of economic incentives and perks to attract
CEOs, sales mangers, and executive directors, as well as event and meeting
professionals, to hold their meetings and events in New York during the next
six months. Offerings will include upgrade packages from hotels, and insider
rates on air and ground transportation, entertainment, and dining. There are
also exclusives such as free celebrity greetings, pre-planned and packaged
patriotic special events, and attendance at practice sessions of New York
sports teams.
According to Jonathan Tisch, Chairman of New York Rising, "Any meeting or
event held in the next six months will be of historic importance to both the
city, the participants, and the companies. The job of this coalition is to
show businesspeople how it will also make good economic sense as well."
Most major meeting and event media, including Corporate Meetings &
Incentives, have donated advertising space on a space-available basis.
